Event Preferencing

The first round of event preferencing closed last Thursday, September 29. At that time, 2,752 FIRST® Robotics Competition teams (including 138 rookie teams) submitted event preferences for nearly 4,900 events. Teams were notified of their event assignments around 9:30 am eastern on Friday morning. Teams who did not submit a preference for an event can now register for their first event.

My sincere thanks go to all the folks at FIRST®, across multiple departments, who helped ensure this process ran smoothly. Now, we get to do it again!

The second round of event preferencing will open at 12:00 pm (Noon) eastern time on Thursday, October 6 and close at 12:00 pm (Noon) eastern time on Thursday, October 13. One Key Reminder: The choices you submitted during the first round of preferencing do not carry-over into the second round of preferencing! If you want to submit event preferences for Round 2, you need to do so through your FIRST Dashboard. More detail is given in the event preferencing user guide.

Black Tote Opt-Out

The Black Tote Opt-Out explained in this blog post was able to open earlier than expected and is now open! The ability for a team to opt-out of receiving the Black Tote with their Kit of Parts closes at 12:00 pm (Noon) eastern on Thursday, October 20.

Kit & Kickoff Selection

Last month, a technical error resulted in us needing to close the option for teams to select at which local kickoff they would like to receive their Kickoff Kit. That error has been fixed, and the selection capability is now available to teams in the FIRST Dashboard. Teams have until 12:00 pm (Noon) eastern on Thursday, November 14 to complete this selection.
